Despite the October Nor’easter knocking on our Island doors, so many community members came and GOT CRACKING FOR A GREAT CAUSE!
We celebrated the Island’s semi-official start of fall on Saturday, October 11 at the Fishers Island American Legion Post 1045’s annual LobsterFest, a special fundraising event for the Legion’s facility.
Tickets were reserved in advance for the delicious menu of Lobster, Littleneck Clams, Kielbasa, Corn, Potatoes, and Clam Chowder!

People dropped by in the morning to watch and learn how the volunteers, led by Luis Horn and Aaron Rice with Seth Allan, set up and cooked this delicious meal right on site. Burgers and/or hot dogs were also grilled for the kids or all ages.
Special thank yous go to the trench preppers and cooks – Luis, Aaron, and Seth with Suzie Allan, Chris Aiello, Courtney Allan and Jeff Barrett, Tracy Pisano, Jade and Brooklyn Redo and friend Mia, and especially the hole digger and chowder maker Jimmy Ski, and the Legion’s dedicated manager Patty Walker.
