On February 16, 2025, our friend Derek Scroxton passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by family and supported by so many friends that it is hard to count.
Derek loved fishing and had some great spots. He also enjoyed taking pictures and driving around the island with friends and family talking about anything that came up. He had many jobs around the island in his 44 years but his passion was landscaping.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Darcy Scroxton, his children Bee Scroxton and Kloe Scroxton, his father Edward Scroxton, two sisters Allison Brown and Jessica Scroxton-Clark, a niece Elizabeth, and a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his loving mother Cheryl Scroxton.
There will be no services per his request.
The family would also like to thank the outpouring of support from so many on and off the Island during this tough time.
