Vote for Seasonal Representatives
The Island Community Board (ICB) hereby announces an election to fill a vacancy for an ICB Seasonal Representative to be held the week of August 3, 2026. One of the three Seasonal Representatives has reached the end of his second term and will rotate off the Board at the public meeting of the ICB Board scheduled for August 12, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
The vacancy is for a term of three (3) years, and representatives are eligible for reelection for a second term. Any individual, 18 years or over, who owns a home on Fishers Island or regularly rents one for more than two weeks every year but resides less than five months a year on the Island, is eligible to be a candidate. Any adult who regularly resides with a family that owns or rents on the Island in this manner is also eligible to be a candidate. An individual who regularly resides more than five months a year on the Island and wishes to be a member of the ICB Board may stand as a candidate for a Year-Round slot. (There are no vacancies in year-round positions this year, but a vacancy is expected in August 2027.)
An individual who wishes to be a candidate for the Seasonal vacancy this August should submit a statement and a photograph to jfmcgillian@gmail.com and to ficommunityboard@gmail.com no later than July 22. These will be published on fishersisland.net and included in the August 1 Fog Horn issue.

- Voting will be online beginning Monday, August 3 at 9:00 AM through Friday, August 7 at 3:00 PM.
- Voting in-person is available at the Community Center’s 1st floor office between 9 AM and 4 PM only on Tuesday, August 4.
- The election results will be announced at the ICB public meeting on August 12.
