Proposal One, An Amendment to Allow Olympic Sports Complex In Essex County on State Forest Preserve Land.Allows skiing and related trail facilities on state forest preserve land. The site is 1,039 acres. Requires the State to add 2,500 acres of new forest land in Adirondack Park.
A Yes Vote authorizes new ski trails and related facilities in the Adirondack forest preserve.
A No Vote does not authorize use

Proposition Two, A Proposal
Resolution No. 601-2025, “Adopting Local Law No. -2025, The Term Limit Preservation Act – A charter law to revise the County term limit law to close potential loopholes created by the adoption of New York’s even year election law and avoid the need, for taxpayer funded special election and to change the term of office of County Legislator from two (2) to four (4) years to prevent the need for three (3) elections in four (4) years, [and ensure compliance with New York’s Election Law without the need three elections in four years].
A Yes Vote would avoid potentially requiring legislators to resign midterm and the need for taxpayer funder Special Elections. A Yes Vote would also amend the term of office of county legislators from two (2) years to four (4) years ensuring compliance with the New York Even Election Year Law without the need for three elections in a four year period.
A No Vote would mean that legislators could be required to resign prior to the end of their term causing the need for taxpayer funded special elections and would also require that elections for county legislators be held three elections in a four year in order to comply with New York’s Even Year Election Law.

We are very appreciative of the Fishers Island Community Center for opening its doors for use of the Great Room, and of Staley and the FICC for providing delicious food and refreshments for all the poll workers throughout the day.
