The 68th ‘Round Island Race had a beautiful day on August 31, 2024, and the approximately 70 competitors made their way around FI counterclockwise through a full ebb cycle.

Current was a major factor, and competitors realized big gains by sailing offshore on the south side and hugging the coast once they made the turn at Lord Passage on their way back to West Harbor. The FIYC would like to congratulate all the competitors and thank the Mudheads, the organizing authority, for another wonderful year of racing. But the racing is just half the magic—FIYC also would like to recognize their incredible FIYC staff and the many members who volunteered to sell tickets, set-up the tent and tables, tend bar, and attend to the myriad of details that must come off for this event to be a success. Looking forward to doing it all again next year.
