Fishers Island community members and their pets joined Rev. Michael Spencer of St. John’s Church for the Blessing of the Pets Sunday, July 25, 5:30 p.m. on the Village Green.
All furry, feathered, and scaled creatures welcome.
Christians everywhere celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4 by having their pets blessed in the spirit of this patron saint of animals and ecology.
Of course, on Fishers we sometimes do things (and timing) a little differently…
Sunday afternoon, over 30 dogs and their families gathered on the village green for the annual blessing of the pets. All dogs (and people) behaved! ~ Rev. Michael Spencer
