Lighthouse Works is pleased to welcome Clint Jukkala to Fishers Island as part of our Visiting Artist Program.
In addition to conducting critical studio visits with our fellows, Clint will be presenting his work at an Artist Talk which is open to the public on Saturday, September 14, at 10 am. The talk will take place at the home of Tod Williams and Billie Tsien. Directions can be found below.
Clint Jukkala received his MFA from the Yale University School of Art and his BFA from the University of Washington in Seattle. He has had solo exhibitions at Bravin Lee Gallery in New York, Fred Giampietro Gallery in New Haven, and Finlandia University in Hancock, MI. Group exhibitions include Feature Inc. and Edward Thorp galleries in New York, Steven Zevitas gallery in Boston, the deCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA, and the Woodmere Art Museum in Philadelphia. His work has been reviewed in the Brooklyn Rail, Two Coats of Paint and Art Critical, and he has been awarded residencies at the McDowell Colony and Yaddo. He has taught at the University of Connecticut, and the Yale School of Art, and is currently Dean at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia.
Our Visiting Artist Program invites nationally recognized artists to Fishers Island to engage in a critical dialogue with our fellows and to present their work to our community. An invaluable resource to our fellows and community alike, the Visiting Artist Program seeks to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of contemporary art and writing.
