NOTICE OF HEARINGS FOR WETLAND AND COASTAL EROSION HAZARD AREA PERMIT APPLICATIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD AS AN IN-PERSON MEETING BY THE TOWN TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2025 AT OR ABOUT 5:30 P.M. AT THE TOWN HALL MAIN MEETING HALL LOCATED AT 53095 ROUTE 25, SOUTHOLD, N.Y. 11971 REGARDING THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS FOR PERMITS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE WETLAND/COASTAL
EROSION HAZARD AREA ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS WILL BE AN IN-PERSON MEETING ONLY WITH NO OPTION TO PARTICIPATE VIA A ZOOM BASED WEBINAR.

The application will be available to view via the Southold Town website beginning October 31, 2025. To view the application files please visit: https://www.southoldtownny.gov At the bottom of the picture on the main screen click on the second button from the right “Town Records, Weblink/Laserfiche”; go to bottom of page and click on “pg. 2”; click on “Trustees” folder; click on “Applications”; click on “Pending”; all files are listed by name in alphabetical order. Click on the name of the application to view the file.

Written comments may also be submitted via email to the Trustees Clerks at
elizabethc@southoldtownny.gov and thomash@southoldtownny.gov. Said comments will be considered at the public hearing provided that they are submitted no later than 12:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time) on the day of the public hearing.

  1. LAUREN K. CALAHAN requests a Wetland Permit for the as-built clearing of an approximately 10-foot wide by 80-foot long area, and to revegetate this area using native vegetation; and to establish and perpetually maintain a 10’ wide vegetated non-turf buffer area along the landward edge of the 100-foot jurisdictional edge/line. Located:

  2. Sam Fitzgerald, Architect on behalf of TRAVIS & SOFIA GARCELON requests a Wetland Permit to construct a two-story dwelling (25’x45’ footprint) on top of concrete piers to support the house, and in between the concrete piers are non-structural breakaway panels, construct a 10’x45’ seaward deck, install a/c units and a generator; install an I/A OWTS sanitary system landward of dwelling; install underground electric and water services; and to install a stormwater drainage system. ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN SAID MATTERS SHOULD ATTEND IN PERSON AT THE TIME AND PLACE ABOVE SPECIFIED AND WILL BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD. APPLICATIONS MAY BE REVIEWED AND COMMENTS MAY BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING UP TO 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE HEARING.
