Community Science & Educator Training:
Starting Wednesday, Sept. 11th!
Dreaming of adopting your own oyster cage? Eager to access NYC’s waterfront? Looking for ways to get more involved in the Billion Oyster Project Community?
Our 6-hour training sessions, starting Wednesday 9/11, will have you ready to manage your very own Oyster Research Station! These dockside oyster cages allow you to perform water quality testing, measure oyster growth, and analyze biodiversity right here in our coastal communities.
By participating in ORS training, you’ll be joining a community of scientists who are collecting data that improves local knowledge of our Harbor and arms BOP biologists with crucial background data.
Whether you’re a local school teacher, all-star volunteer, or conscientious community member, we’d love to see you on Governors Island — between Wednesday 9/11 and Saturday 9/14 — for oyster research training!
