Background & Purpose
The FIWMD building was built in the early 2000’s. It contains a garage and offices. The building is of concrete block (CMU) construction. The garage was built to be unconditioned space and has no sidewall insulation and probably no roof insulation. A waste oil furnace was added to the garage at some point. The office wing is fully insulated and heated.
Through independent inspections and assessments of the existing FIWMD building, it was determined that the improvements as outlined in this RFP are the minimum necessary to ensure the long-term health and viability of the building.
The building has seen some deterioration over the years, mainly from water penetration through the CMU as well as the roofing and trim. There are also several as-built conditions called out in the building inspection that need to be remedied. It is the intent of the FIWMD to make these necessary repairs to the building. The FIWMD is seeking proposals from general contractors to complete the Scope of Work as herein described.
