FIDCO 2019 Sticker Information

January 1st, 2019

Dear Fishers Islanders:

Enclosed are our 2019 East End Sticker Rates and the regulations governing vehicular and bicycle traffic on East End roads. This information also may be found on FIDCO’s web site at

The four Residential Vehicle categories are: East End Property Owners, West End Residents, Island Renters and Year-Round Residents. The 2019 rates will remain unchanged from the 2018 rates. The 2019 rates for all Residential and Commercial Vehicle categories are set forth on the enclosed chart. The 2019 rates also may be found on the FIDCO website. Bicycle stickers will continue to be free of charge.

Every vehicle entering the East End must have a FIDCO sticker affixed to the upper right-hand corner of its windshield where the sticker can easily be seen by the Gate House attendants. Stickers may be purchased at the Gate House or online via the sticker renewal application link on the FIDCO website. Vehicle identification information is required for each sticker purchased and we are now encouraging everyone to enter this information via our online system. If you purchased a sticker in 2018 and will be using the same vehicle as last year, your vehicle information already will be in the system, so you only will need to enter your user name and password. We are hopeful that this will streamline your sticker purchase and allow everyone to renew in a timely fashion. Additional information, including policies regarding rental cars, guest passes and bicycles, may be found on the FIDCO website.

Guest Passes and Rental Properties

All guest passes must be obtained at the Gate House. Holders of Residential Vehicle stickers are entitled to request a pass for each particular guest vehicle for up to a total of 10 days per season. The guest pass will be registered to a specific vehicle and once that vehicle exceeds the maximum ten days, the vehicle will need to purchase a Residential Vehicle sticker in order to continue to have access. In all cases, Renters (on the East or West Ends) are not eligible for guest passes and must purchase a Residential Vehicle sticker in order to obtain access.

FIDCO roads on the East End are private property. We take the safety of residents and guests on our roads very seriously. FIDCO and the New York State Police monitor traffic on the East End roads and posted speed limits as well as compliance with stop signs will be strictly enforced. We have seen accidents due to excessive speed and/or driving under the influence of alcohol and will do everything in our power to support State and Local law enforcement efforts in our jurisdiction. Violations of New York State laws and FIDCO’s policies may ultimately lead to driving privileges being revoked on the East End roads. Please exercise due care, observe posted limits and warnings, and drive safely.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Please take the time to remind your family members and guests of our traffic rules and regulations and lead by example. PLEASE SLOW DOWN.

Beach Parking

Please take note of the areas where “No Parking” signs are posted at the East End beaches. These signs are there to allow clearance for emergency vehicle access and orderly traffic flow, and we will enforce these parking restrictions. Violations will result first in a warning letter and may ultimately lead to driving privileges being revoked on the East End roads. We ask that residents and guests help to minimize the congestion at the East End beach parking areas by riding together when possible.

Control of Pets

A number of full-time and summer residents have approached FIDCO over the last several months to express concern about dogs that have been unleashed and running free on FIDCO property (including the beaches), the Fishers Island Recreational Path and private property. There are many Island residents who enjoy walking their dogs along the FIDCO roads and beaches as well as on the Rec Path and Museum nature trails, and we ask all pet owners to please maintain positive control over your pets at all times.

Jim Wall and John Bergquist will be returning to the Gate House this year, and Aaron Rice and Courtney Allan will continue to maintain the East End roads and provide security. Please give them a hearty “Hi” and “Thank You” when you see them.
