FI School Capital Project Presentation & Vote

The vote on Capital Project Proposition (Proposition #1) was held December 1 at the Community Center.

Eligible voters included individuals registered to vote on the Suffolk County role, or have a NY State ID with a Fishers Island address issued prior to November 1, 2020.

Results of Vote on December 1, 2020:

Total number of names registered to vote on Fishers Island in Suffolk County as of November 30, 2020 was 316
Total number on the Poll List (in person) voted 87, plus Total number of absentee ballots received 5 = 92

  • 92 Total Ballots cast
  • 64 Total ballots cast in favor of Proposition #1
  • 28 Total ballots cast against Proposition #1
  • 0 Number of ballots destroyed or otherwise defective
  • 0 Number of blank ballots

Printable FIS Capital Project Presentation

Tuesday, October 13 the School presented the plans for the Capital Project at the Island Community Board Meeting.

This was also presented at the Fishers Island School Board of Education meeting on October 21 (see presentation recording link below) and a public hearing was held on November 18th.
