DESCRIPTION:The Island Community Board (ICB) hereby announces an election to fill a vacancy for a seasonal director to be held the week of August 3\, 2026. One of the three Seasonal directors has reached the end of his second term and will rotate off the Board at the public meeting of the Board scheduled for August 12\, 2026. \nOnly Seasonal Residents vote for Seasonal Reps\nThe vacancy is for a term of three (3) years\, and directors are eligible for reelection for a second term. Any individual\, 18 years or over\, who owns a home on Fishers Island or regularly rents one for more than two weeks every year but resides less than five months a year on the Island\, is eligible to be a candidate. Any adult who regularly resides with a family that owns or rents on the Island in this manner is also eligible to be a candidate. An individual who regularly resides more than five months a year on the Island and wishes to be a member of the ICB Board should stand as a candidate for a Year-Round slot. (There are no vacancies in year-round positions this year\, but a vacancy is expected in August 2027.) \nVoting will be online August 3 – 7\, or in-person ONLY on Tuesday\, August 4\, from 9 AM-4 PM at the Community Center. Specific instructions for registered members of ICB will be mailed to them before the end of this month. If you do not receive the email directly\, please contact secretary@icb.com or gdemenil@gmail.com.
