Donations for the Homeless

My name is Isabella and I am 12 years old. Sometimes on intersections near Target or in the city I see people holding signs that say, “Anything helps” or “food needed.” They are homeless and have nothing. I would like to collect items to make “care packages” for these people. If you would like to help donate supplies to fill these packages, here’s a list of items that would be helpful:

Toiletries of all kinds, leftover supplies or samples, inexpensive clothes, (mittens, gloves, hats, etc.) small blankets, rain ponchos, food that doesn’t expire, (dried nuts, dried fruit, granola bars, crackers, etc.) bottles of water, soap samples, shampoo, hand wash, washcloths, tissues, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, also 5-10 dollar gift cards to a restaurant or dollar store.

Please do not donate the following… Hand sanitizer, cash, or canned foods.

You can find containers at the following locations: The Community Center, the Library, the Fishers Island Ferry Terminal, the New London Ferry Terminal and Our Lady of Grace Church on Fishers.

Thank you so much for any items you can donate!

Isabella
