At long last…. FICC’s Fitness Center is Reopening

Fishers Island Community CenterBeginning on Tuesday, September 8th

Some things to note: Before using the gym, members must reactivate their accounts.  This means signing new waivers in order to activate the key cards.

Members are welcome to reactivate their accounts any time they want to use the gym; however, to avoid a traffic jam in the office and a delay to use the gym, we are inviting our membership to reactivate this week, on Thursday and Friday.

You may call Linda Mrowka between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM Thursday and Friday
788-7604 or stop by during those hours or email her Linda@ficommunitycenter.org

This will allow us to have all your paperwork ready in advance of your arrival at the Community Center.

COVID Rules for the Gym

  • We are only allowed to admit 5 people at a time into the gym. Please be prepared to wait or return later.
  • Sign-in is required.
  • The gym will be cleaned and disinfected three times a day, morning, mid-day, and evening. We will disinfect with a fogger at 1:15 PM everyday. This will take 10 minutes and there can be no gym use during this process. Gym users must give the priority to the cleaning process.
  • We ask all members to please wipe down the equipment after use.
  • Masks must be worn at all times.

Windows will be open and fans turned on, except on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM, when the windows must be shut, due to grinding at the FIWMD.

Please Note
We are anxious to open the gym and be of service to the community. However, we can only remain open if we have compliance. The gym is monitored and memberships will be suspended for noncompliance of the rules.

We are doing everything we can to be COVID-compliant (and NY State compliant) in our cleaning and disinfecting practices. We have new air filters, we are cleaning three a day and we are using a fogger, and we are enforcing masks and distance between machines.

However, please know that coming to the gym is at your own risk. If you are feeling unsure or uncomfortable, please don’t come. If you feel ill, please don’t come. If you have been using the gym and then feel ill, please let us know.

Thank you for your help and support and we look forward to seeing you in the building.
