Book: LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY by Bonnie Garmus

“This debut novel has won many acclaims and is the story of a woman chemist in the 1960’s who is a single mom that gets a job as a host of a cooking show. Goodreads says “Laugh-out-loud funny, shrewdly observant, and studded with a dazzling cast of supporting characters, LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY is as original and vibrant as its protagonist.” For those of you who have already read it I apologize but apparently it’s an excellent book club choice! I can’t wait to turn the first page.”

Library Book Club selections:

Date: Wednesday, July 19
Time: 5:30pm
Location: FI Library
Book: DAUGHTER OF SPIES by Elizabeth Winthrop

We’ve also decided to read a new book by Elizabeth Winthrop, a Fishers author, who will be speaking at the library on July 25th. Elizabeth is the author of Island Justice and Castles in the Attic, among other titles.

For those of you who prefer e-books please avail yourselves of the Library’s app on their website.

Please invite friends who might also be interested. The more readers the better and so many people are unable to join on any given night that I don’t think we can have too many people. There are lots of book lovers on the island and it’s really nice to bring the group together. Please feel free to forward this to anyone else you can think of. All are welcome.

We generally select the book for the following month at the preceding meeting. Feel free to BYOBeverage and a snack to share if you like.
