FI School BOE Election & Budget Vote Results

87 Qualified voters of the Fishers Island Union Free School District voted to approve the budget proposition for the 2023-2024 fiscal year and the election of one (1) member to serve on the Board of Education (BOE), for a 3-year term, as well as approving the authorization of the tax levy for the Fishers Island Library budget.

Beth Cashel running unopposed won her 1st term on the BOE.

A special thank you to outgoing Fishers Island School District’s BOE President Jamie Doucette. She has successfully completed four 3-year terms on the School’s Board of Education, the last nine years of which as BOE president. The District is grateful for her service.

“RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Fishers Island Union Free School District #4, Fishers Island, New York, be and is authorized to expend the sum of $3,940,884 for the school year 2023-2024 set forth in the estimate of General Fund appropriations, and hereby is authorized to levy the necessary tax therefore.”

“RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Fishers Island Union Free School District #4, Fishers Island, New York, be and is authorized to collect on behalf of the Fishers Island Library Association $51,000.00 for use of and by the Fishers Island Library Association and is hereby authorized to levy the necessary tax therefore.”
