Survey: You picked the Community Mural Design

by Jane Ahrens
The chosen design will be painted by a student-led group of mixed-grades from Fishers Island School and displayed on the Lighthouse Works Ferry Annex building.

Lighthouse Works and Fishers Island School’s art students are collaborating this spring on a new mural project.

The students narrowed the mural design choices down to four and asked Fishers Island community members’ which should go up on the Lighthouse Works Ferry Annex Studio building. The final choice, Tagged Horseshoe Crabs Return Home by Maddie Hatfield, will be reproduced on a 4’x8′ wood piece and painted by a collection of FI School students representing many grades.

The mural committee is hoping to have the mural up later this spring.

Thank you to the 141 responders to the Mural survey!
