FI Fire District 2023 Installation Dinner

For the first time in three years, the Fishers Island Fire District commissioners hosted the Installation Dinner for the Fire Department members, in person at the Firehouse.

The ‘barn’ was spotless and the perfect venue for the celebration. Department members and their guests witnessed the swearing in of the 2023 officers and the presentation of the anniversary pins by the commissioners. Chief Jeff Edwards presented the 2022 Member of the Year Award to Assistant Division Fire Chief Matt Edwards for his years of dedicated service as a volunteer firefighter and department treasurer.

Special thanks go to Bill Bloethe for the delicious hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and special dessert, and to firefighter and paramedic Rod Rodriguez for the sound system and music.

The reception was followed by the swearing in of the officers, presentation of the 10 year anniversary pins, presentation of the Member of the Year Award, and grace before dinner.
