Fishers Island School celebrates the Class of 2022 at Graduation

The Class of 2022 was honored and congratulated on Friday by the Fishers Island School community, family members, guests, and the Island came out to fill the Theater on a most beautiful June day.

The Seniors were celebrated by their peers and mentors, and each received awards for their academic, athletic, and community commitments.

Following the flag salute by seniors Lydia Doucette and Lane Wilson, and the Welcome Address by Micaiah Rutherford, Jackson Eastman introduced the Commencement Speaker.

Rebekah Maysles, Commencement Speaker

Rebekah Maysles is a New York City based artist. For the past four years, she has been the President of Maysles Films, Inc. where she has focused on preserving the archive, generating international and educational distribution deals, and special projects. Rebekah is currently on the board of the Maysles Documentary Center in Harlem which is dedicated to the exhibition and production of documentary films that inspire dialogue and action. Rebekah and her family cherish their time on Fishers Island each season.

SCOPE is a non-profit on Long Island. The Scope award is chosen by the school Superintendent and awarded to the graduating senior who best exemplifies the school’s mission. The graduate has utilized the school’s unique resources and programs to help determine their post-secondary plans and has a desire to use their acquired skills to give back to our island community.

*Constance Toldo received a 4 year Naval ROTC (Marine Option) Scholarship at the Citadel
