NY Project Hope: A healthy mental & emotional resource for Fishers

New York Project Hope was established to help alleviate the many stresses and strains that the pandemic created. Counselors at the New Horizon Counseling Center‘s Copiague office are here to listen and provide community-based support and referrals.

They have reached out to Fishers Island to get the word out, so they can reach as many individuals and families as possible – to offer any support needed.

NY Project Hope offers FREE mental/emotional health counseling services for depression, stress, anxiety, isolation, the grief of the loss of someone to name a few, through a toll-free, anonymous, and confidential- support helpline.

Unfortunately, this time of the year brings on more stress to many of our family members, friends, students, co-workers, and neighbors and NY Project Hope is here to help for FREE.

Because of Fishers Island’s remote location (from the rest of Long Island) they can absolutely set up zoom meetings for anyone who might need their counseling services. They offer:

  • a weekly Google Meet, already in place (flyer attached)
  • the Helpline is available for those who prefer to speak on the phone (flyer attached)

If at any time there might be someone who wants to have a meeting, the participating party or IHP staff can email Fishers Island’s contact Christina at cnash@nhcc.us or call 917-605-4916, too. She works with an ambitious team of qualified people ready and all are willing to help her help those who need support.
