Ferry District introduces new Ticketing System

Ferry seal

The Fishers Island Ferry District will be migrating over to a new ticket system over the next few days beginning Friday, January 21, 2022.

After several years of rising credit card and monthly maintenance costs, we decided to change ticket providers. Over the past months, the Ferry District has been evaluating our options for a new ticketing system and we have chosen Fare Harbor. We have used Fare Harbor for ticketing on our Silver Eel Fast Ferry with great success however, there may be some bumps along the way and we appreciate your patience as we move forward.

Tickets purchased over the past year will still be accepted. Our tickets and ticket book pricing will remain the same when purchased at our ticket counter however, there will be a service fee when booking online. We will also be issuing two full-size tickets, one for each way, instead of one perforated ticket. In time we hope to add a ticketless option using scanners.

Change is never easy, but this is a very intuitive system and one we expect that you will find easier to use.

Thank you,

The Fishers Island Ferry District
