It’s that time of year! Migratory birds are heading south for the winter. And have you seen the beautiful monarch butterflies swarming the parade grounds?
Please join us with experts from the University of Delaware, Emily Baisden, and Will Almeida, for our annual fall migratory bird count this Sunday, September 19.
We’re fortunate that Fishers Island is on the Atlantic Flyway, a major north-south flyway for migratory birds in North America. We need your help to chart these bird populations and get a sense of the prevalence of different species in our area. Will and Emily will lead the count and answer all of your questions about migratory birds.

On Sunday, following Audubon bird count rules, birders will make 15 five-minute stops from the West End to the East End. At each timed stop, birders count birds and call out what they see.
