Suffolk EOC Situation Report 6/2/2021

Governor Cuomo held a press briefing in the Jacob Javits Center week of June 1, below are a few key points:

  • Historical perspective offered. The connection with Covid at the Center was the largest field hospital for those affected, now it is the largest mass vaccination site.
  • NYS has the lowest weekly positivity rate in the nation at 0.64%. We have kept the numbers down. Also reported 19 million doses of vaccines have been administered in New York State.
  • Vaccination rates: 65.5% of first dose, completed series in the 50+%. Target is now on 12-17 year of age. Incentive offered: Get A Shot to Make Your Future Scholarship raffle. Over 45,000 young people have taken their vaccine and 10 winners were recently announced. Raffles will continue until July 7.
  • Get a vaccine and enjoy New York. Venues such as Radio City Music Hall have chosen to open to vaccinated people only. Sports arenas and restaurants will follow suit. The Convention Center will be reopening with New York International Auto Show in August with the goal of 1 Million visitors in nine days.

o Friday, March 26th administered by all PODs: 3,293 doses
o Saturday, March 27th administered by all PODs: 3,777 doses
o Sunday, March 28th administered by all PODs: 260 doses [@ FINY]
o Monday, March 29th administered by a POD at Mastic Beach: 220 doses
