FIFD Narcan Training

Fishers Island Fire Dept and Suffolk County REMSCO will be offering a free training session on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose by using intranasal Naloxone (Narcan) and hands-only CPR.

Narcan is a prescription medication that is used to reverse an opioid overdose. Unfortunately, the opiate drug problem has been increasing in recent years, and having this training can potentially save someone’s life. In addition, we will be providing training in hands-only CPR.

Audrey Watson-Wigley is a New York State Department of Health certified Opioid Overdose Prevention Program presenter.

The Narcan demonstration, lecture, hands-on training, and hands-only CPR class will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on June 12th. The course will be held at the American Legion for the 26 who signed up. Thank you!

Narcan packages and additional information will be handed out to those completing the course.
