The books that the Fishers Island Library Book Group has chosen to read and the dates they are to be discussed for the next few months.
We will have a virtual gathering via Zoom meeting at 7:00 pm the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Join the discussion as a longtime, new, or one-time member, and please reach out to us at email@example.com for log in instructions. All are welcome.
The Library Book Group and the Fishers Island Theater are collaborating on a joint event on Wednesday, July 28.
Please join us by reading, or rereading, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Then come to the Theater Wednesday, July 28 to discuss the book and watch the movie together!
Come at 6:30 to socialize, chat about the book and enjoy a beverage and the movie will begin at about 7:00.

Lighthouse Works is having some of its alumni authors back via Zoom to discuss their books so if times can be coordinated we may switch in their books as last collaboration with Lighthouse Works was very much enjoyed by all the Library Book Group members who attended.
Other books that have been suggested include: The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah, Winter in Paradise (and sequels) by Elin Hildebrand, Magic Hour by Kristen Hannah, Moby Dick by Herman Melville, All the Single Ladies by Dorothea Benton Frank, Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson, The Nineteenth Wife by David Ebershoff, Middlemarch by George Eliot and The Gun Monkey by Victor Gischler. And, other possibilities suggested were Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah, Celine by Peter Heller, The Secret Life of Lobsters by Trevor Corson, Last Day by Luanne Rice, and The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson. Another suggestion was either of Isabel Wilkerson’s books, The Warmth of Other Suns or Caste.
It allows one (one may need a NYS address) to become a member of the New York Library system and borrow digital and audiobooks for free.
