Artist Kent Stetson creates custom Clutches for IHP Fundraiser

Bag designed by Artist Kent Stetson

As many of you know, I am head of the board of the Island Health Project on Fishers Island.  This organization raises money so we can provide the island with a doctor year-round. This comes at a huge cost therefore fundraising is an important part of our annual budget which is about $524,000 annually.

If you are a Fishers Islander, you know our Island Health Project / HHC Annual Trunk Show & Sale had to be cancelled this summer. I had a really nice lineup with a few new vendors. One was this very talented Rhode Island artist named Kent Stetson who makes very clever, creative, and colorful clutches.

Kent reached out to me and offered to have a sale online and give 20% to the IHP. I am sending this on to you in the hope that you will like something and make a purchase to help out IHP. Because we cannot hold this sale and our annual successful HOG tournament, our fundraising will be down this year. PLEASE go to and see if there is something that catches your eye. I own 3 and am happy to show them to you if you are on island.

If you order please make sure you tell him you are from Fishers Island or a friend of mine!!!

Many thanks and have fun!
Gratefully – Susie and IHP!

Kent writes….

“One of the new participants for this year’s annual Fishers Island Health Project fundraiser, designer Kent Stetson, creates unique and eye-catching handbags from his studio in Rhode Island. Founded in 2003, Kent Stetson handbags are enjoyed by celebrities and collectors worldwide. Due to the event being postponed this year, the designer has created three Fishers Island styles based on historic Fishers Island images. Inscribed inside with the year “2020”, these pieces are sure to be heirloom keepsakes. Each piece is signed on the inside pocket and comes with a removable crossbody chain and cloth logo dustbag.

In addition to these three styles, from July 10 through July 13,  twenty percent of sales from every item listed on will be donated to the Island Health Project.

In addition to signature styles, the designer creates a range of pouches, totes, and briefcases. You could even order a custom bag with your own favorite photograph on it! By request in the special notes section on the website, the signature crossbody clutch bags and Fishers Island styles can be made custom to a smaller 9″ wide by 6″ high version at no additional charge. I am happy to discuss any customization you might need.”
