The monthly drill for the EMTs and Sea Stretcher crews were combined Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Members of both branches of the Fishers Island Fire Department met at the Sea Stretcher ambulance boat dock to consider the emergency procedures required in the case of abandoning ship. All members of both groups were given the opportunity to practice donning survival suits.
Additionally, one of the three life rafts on board the Sea Stretcher was deployed to familiarize everyone with raft deployment, how to enter the raft, and what survival equipment is stored within the raft.
