When did you first arrive on Island/how did you get here?

I came to the island after graduate school when I was awarded a 2-year fellowship with the Island Institute (Rockland, Maine). The fellowship sent me to FINY to help work with the former Fishers Island Civic Assoc. I ended up meeting my husband and staying here for 8 years. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, we moved to be near her. We came back in 2017 in order to raise our kids where their father grew up!

What are your favorite things to do on Fishers?

We love fishing (Tommy the most), we love being outside and of course, the safety.

What does Fishers mean to you?

I like the simplicity of island life. I like not living a life that is consumed with commercialism and driving around. I love that my kids can walk to school and ride their bikes all over the place. I like that an activity here is outside and always an adventure.
