A Flag may be a flimsy bit of printed gauze, or a beautiful banner of finest silk. Its intrinsic value may be trifling or great; but its real value is beyond price, for it is a precious symbol of all that we and our comrades have worked for and lived for, and died for a free Nation of free men, true to the faith of the past, devoted to the ideals and practice of Justice, Freedom and Democracy. ~ The American Legion

Need a new American flag?
We can help!

Purchase your new American Flag from Fishers Island’s American Legion. Just call the number below and let us know the size and quantity of flags you would like. No answer? Please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. The price will depend on the size of the flag.

Have a well-loved flag that is unserviceable and needs to be disposed of?

Does your old flag need to be disposed of? Please drop it off at the American Legion’s back porch (preferably)  before Friday, June 7 with your name and contact information. Legion members will dispose of it at the next Ceremony for Disposal of Unserviceable Flags on Friday, June 14, 2019

On Memorial Day the American Flag should be flown at 1/2 staff until noon.
