When did you first arrive on Island/how did you get here?
Shortly after I was born in 1973. My father Albert was raised on Fishers and most of my earliest memories take place on Fishers. Thanks to our extended family, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time on Fishers growing up and it’s been vitally important to me ever since. In 2015 I accepted the position with Walsh Park and became a full-time resident in 2017 with my family.
What are your favorite things to do on Fishers?
After not doing it for so long, going to sleep and waking up on Fishers are severely underrated activities. Riding the Munnatawket, beach combing, golfing, taking in the sunsets, diving deep at the Ferguson Museum, seeing a movie at the theater, shopping, going for walks (and picking up inconsiderate people’s trash), spending time with family, walking my dogs, exploring the Parade Grounds and soaking up the seemingly endless breathtaking views. You name it, I enjoy it.
What does Fishers mean to you?
More than I could possibly express in this questionnaire. It’s literally in my blood and I am extremely grateful not only to finally call Fishers home but to work for such an important organization.
About your job/non-profit:
Walsh Park exists to create and maintain attractive and affordable housing options for year-round residents with the ultimate goal of increasing and promoting the year-round community. Without a strong base of year-round residents, Fishers Island would become a drastically different place.
