Richard F. Hale 66, of New London, Connecticut, beloved husband of Rebecca G. Hale, passed away on December 2, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on June 14, 1949 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late C. William Hale and Katherine Roberts Hale Arnold.
He attended Longmeadow Schools followed by enlisting in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dick went on to graduate from Babson College in 1979. After summering on Fishers Island during his youth, he returned to make it his home for 22 years. He was an EMT, an officer, Commissioner and lifetime member of the Fishers Island Fire Department.
He then made his home in New London where he was owner of Pequot Colony Wine and Spirits. He is survived by the love of his life, Rebecca, son Justin N. Fisher, his wife Marybeth, grandchildren Justin and Karisa of Meriden; sister Laura Clingenpeel and her husband Scott of Mystic, CT and their children Rebecca, Andrew and Molly, and a numerous amount of cousins. Dick’s friends are too numerous to list however, he loved them all. He was predeceased by his first wife Linda Kruszewski Hale.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on December 14, 2015 at Thomas L. Neilan and Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London.
