The bride’s father is the president and chief executive of Project Concern International, a San Diego-based health care company that brings medications and clean water to developing countries. Her mother, who travels frequently between the two homes, is an administrative assistant in the special education department at the Fishers Island School, a public school there.

The groom, 32, is a staff sergeant in the Army, based at Schofield Barracks on Oahu in Hawaii.

He is the son of Beverly D. Carter-Humbertson of North Charleston, S.C., and Franklin D. Hoggard Jr. of Brandon, Fla. The groom’s father retired as a master sergeant in the Air Force.
