When did you first arrive on Island?

I have grown up coming to Fishers my entire life. My mother (Mary Denny Wray) and father (Bagley Reid) lived in New York City and purchased a house on the East End in the 1960’s. It has always been a special place to me and my family.

What are your favorite things to do on Fishers?

Fishers Island has so many fantastic things to offer and it changes every month. As a family, I think we take full advantage of each season – sledding on the golf course, hiking the museum trails, beach combing, enjoying the recreational path, playing tennis, golfing, fishing and boating. I think we experience it all.

I enjoy covering and documenting the large storms, both named and unnamed, and watching the winds and tides. Fishers offers a lot to the nature lover as well, from the ospreys to owls, the salamander crossing, and fresh and salt water fish. In my business, I get to know a lot of people and enjoy showing newcomers the island. It has been a pleasure and one of the best features of my job.  I also wear many other “hats” and love to pitch in and volunteer at numerous events.

What are your roles on Fishers Island?

I am a broker with Mystic Isle Realty, and am currently involved in the “Yale Project” which is designed to help sustain the future of the island. I serve on the tennis committee at Hay Harbor. I also wear many other “hats” and love to pitch in and volunteer at numerous events.

About your business:

My father began Mystic Isle Realty in the early 1970’s so we have been around for over 40 years. I began working for MIR initially as a sales person, and now Broker, about 10 years ago. We have a very experienced and knowledgeable sales team that handles many of the sales and rentals on the island. Mystic Isle Realty now consists of my father, Bagley Reid, and sales associates Meg Atkin and Ace Ahrens. It is wonderful working with all the many families on the island.

What does Fishers mean to you?

Fishers is a special place and really unlike any other place that I have seen in the country. The island has not been spoiled or changed and sometimes this is good, and at other times frustrating. The overall beauty, safety and genuine charm of the island are the main attractions and with the recreational path and great beaches it’s a perfect place for all ages. While many families have been a part of Fishers for generations I strongly believe it is vital to welcome new comers to ensure the longevity of this unique island.
