The New London Port Area Marine Group hosted Harbor Incident Response Training focused on Marine Firefighting for Land-based Firefighters, and funded by Port Security Grant funds, October 5-12, 2013. The practical training took place at the Fishers Island Ferry District’s New London Terminal and aboard the Munnatawket 1:00-4:30 the afternoons of Sunday, October 6; Tuesday, October 8; Thursday, October 10; and Saturday, October 12.
Over 30 emergency response personnel attended each session, where equipment included the Munnatawket, fire engines, fire boat and other emergency apparatus.
Fishers Island Ferry District graciously offered the use of the Munnatawket. Several ferry personnel participated in the classroom portion of the training and assisted with the practical portion aboard the Munnatawket.
