Donald D. Campbell, 85, of the Hull, Massachusetts area rode his last patrol in January 2012. Donald, aka “DD”, aka “Soupy” entered the NYSP on May 16, 1948 and spent most of his career at SP Hawthorne. He was perhaps best known for his summer assignments, the resident Trooper on Fishers Island, where he is a legend. He retired in 1981.
