by Jane Ahrens

Nancy Whitney Gerry, 95, of Boca Grande, Florida, and Fishers Island, New York, died peacefully September 26, 2012 in Englewood, Florida. Nancy’s love of horses took her from the fox hunting field, where sidesaddle was her choice of seat, to the world of steeple chasing, where her amazing ‘chaser, Flat Top, and his trainer, Janet Elliot, gave her many exciting and successful races. Her love of sport and family, her gusto for life were inspirational to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She also leaves behind her sister, Alice Lorillard; her wonderful helper of eight years, Theresa Constantine; her Westie, Snowy; and many other family members and devoted friends.
