The Island Community Center’s dining room served as the perfect venue for the Spanish Tapas Demonstration Cooking Class on March 25. The students watched and learned first hand how to make the tapas, or ‘small bites’. Chef Robin demonstrated her technique, shared some culinary secrets and all guests returned home with several simple and delicious recipes.
The dishes included Spanish-dusted Chicken with Mango Salsa and Curried Aioli; Chicken and Chorizo Skewers; Spanish Style roasted Almonds; Garlicky Saffron Shrimp wrapped in Serrano ham; Baked Goat Cheese with Pesto and Marinara sauce and Toasted Crostini; and Crema Catalana for the dessert.
What a fun night. Chef Robin treated us to some yummy tapas and some secrets of the kitchen. Shrimp, chicken, and tasty custard, we look forward to the next class. ~ Elizabeth
