We’ve a lot to celebrate at Lighthouse Works – including the completion of Session 30 of our Fellowship Program and its support of over 100 Artists and Writers to date, the installation of our 2018 Public Art Commission and the first of three exhibitions presented as part of our Legacy Program – and we hope you’ll join us!

Fellowship Program: Session 30 Open Studios
Our Session 30 fellows, Brian Booker, Miriam Karraker, Yixuan Pan, Liz McCarthy and Emily Thelander have had a productive six-weeks on the island. Their studios will be open and filled with new works.  Come by to see paintings by Emmy Thelander, whistles and sculptures by Liz McCarthy rendered in Fishers Island Clay and collaborative video works from Yixuan Pan featuring your favorite island residents.

Opening of our 2018 Public Art Commission
We are celebrating the completion and installation of this year’s public art commission, If Portals Could Raise a Ruin, an artwork by Carla Edwards. Carla will be on site to speak about the location, the work and the process of making it.

Legacy Exhibition Program
The first of three exhibitions, presented as part of our Legacy Program, features a 3-channel video entitled https://www.thelighthouseworks.com/exhibitions/ by Laura Bernstein (Summer ’16). This work is the culmination of a large scale project that was partially made and shot on Fishers Island.
