The Island’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by IPP (Island People’s Project), was held on a glorious April 15, 2017, on the Village Green. This year some additional activities were added to a fun day for all the families.
The event began with an old-fashioned Easter hat contest for boys and girls of all ages followed by our traditional hunt. Ages 0-5 hunted for eggs on the lawn of the Fishers Island Fire Department followed by a hunt for ages 6-10 on the town green. After the egg hunt, kids of every age participated in more family fun activities including face painting and relay races!
Many thanks go to IPP volunteers Tawnya Eastman for organizing the event this year; Jackson Eastman and Lydia Doucette who dyed and stuffed eggs; Devin Kuscera, the “tattoo artist”; Lydia, Jackson, Devin, Hunter Kuscera, Camden Mrowka, and Constance Toldo who all helped set up; Nick Klimczak who helped set up and MC’d the event; and Marlin Bloethe for the fabulous photos of this annual island tradition.
