FICC’s New Fitness Equipment and Facility Upgrade

Wednesday, February 28, 2018 the new gym equipment was delivered and installed in the Fishers Island Community Center’s Fitness Center.

The new equipment, along with the recently installed air conditioning units throughout much of the FICC building, will be an enhancement to the center which is such an important community space for so many programs and activities throughout the year.

The equipment looks fantastic. Please come see, and use the 16 new pieces. The Fitness Center reopens with 4 brand new Treadmills, 3 Cross Trainers, 1 PowerMill Trainer, 3 Recumbent Bikes, 2 Spin Bikes and 3 Rowers.

Still in progress is the work to be completed this spring by DirectTV and Z&S.

The FICC Board and its members extend a warm thank you of appreciation for the generous donations from John and Kathy Harris and their family for making the new equipment a reality, and to Ben Gray through the Jeanann Gray Dunlap Foundation for the new air conditioning system to complete a better fitness experience and cool all the FICC building’s public spaces. Each gift directly benefits the community and made this updating possible. In 1912 Ben’s grandfather, Dr. Benjamin Gray, was hired as the first doctor on Fishers Island by Mr. Henry L. Ferguson. Dr. Gray would be very pleased with this most thoughtful donation, made with the community members’ well-being as the focus.
