FI School Students help with Waste Management’s Beach Clean-up

Students at Fishers Island School participated in FI Waste Management’s Annual Beach Clean-Up Friday afternoon September 23. Recognizing the need to preserve and protect our island’s natural environment, a group of 7-12 graders combed the beach after school with Science Teacher Carol Giles. Community Service is an important core value of Fishers Island School. FI Conservancy Naturalist Justine Kibbe thanked the school, “for their contribution and stewardship in supporting the island clean-up”.

What you take to the beach
should go home from the beach – with you.

It is everyone’s job to pick up after themselves
and help keep our beaches clean.

Take a garbage bag to the beach and see how full you can get it!
Every little bit helps.
