Ferry District RFP: Managing Dredge Spoils from Silver Eel

If you wish to bid on providing Fishers Island Ferry District (Fishers Island terminal) with managing dredge spoils (moving spoils from a staging and dewatering area to an embankment (“berm”) that is three hundred yards long. Dredge Spoils Management Bid

In compliance with the scope of work referenced below and drawings provided for Fishers Island Ferry District’s Silver Eel Channel dredge spoils Contract Bids which are scheduled to be opened April 3, 2019 at the District’s Board of Commissioners’ meeting and should be delivered to the District’s New London terminal (5 Waterfront Park, New London) or Fishers Island business office, 261 Trumbull Drive, Fishers Island, NY office by 10:00 AM April 3, 2019; and subject to all the terms and conditions set forth therein, the undersigned or his agent, has examined the situation and makes the following offer: I/we propose to manage the dredge spoils of approximately 4,600 cubic yards +/- of dredge material in accordance with the specifications as outlined by the District. The dredging will cease no later than May 31, 2019.

Scope of Work to Include:

  1. Herbicide treatment of up to 300 yards of embankment presently covered in brush and bramble.
  2. Prepare spoils management area (approximately 100’ x 60’) as per drawing specifications provided.
  3. Provide heavy equipment necessary to deploy dredge spoils staged in spoils management area, along embankment as per drawing specifications.
  4. Awarded spoils management contractor is required to keep up with the dredging operations and at no time cause delay.
  5. Contracted work will be considered complete once a site inspection confirms spoils are placed and graded as per drawing specs and spoils management area has been removed.
  6. Prevailing wages apply.
