February at the Island Community Center

It’s a busy February at the Community Center!

Chef Brian Busse is taking this week in the Island Café for some reorganization of the kitchen and sprucing up of the dining room and Café seating areas. The Café will reopen Wednesday, February 8. His menu continues to rotate dishes in and out to keep the winter fatigue from setting in, and he’s got plenty of burgers, fries, and chicken tenders for the bowling crowd.

Speaking of Bowling, we’ve got full four teams and can start the league! This brings a little extra life to the Center on these cold Wednesday evenings, and hopefully a little extra community spirit. Remember that the Alley is open Thursday through Sunday as well, and we welcome special events!

Trivia Night returns this month – keep an eye out for signs and emails – as does a family-friendly, holiday-themed event to make Valentines on February 5th. We also continue to offer dancing for children.

The fitness gym is a busy place in early morning and in the evenings, with tons of members getting active together. If you’ve let your membership lapse, now is the perfect time to get in touch with Sarah Porter and renew! Never been in the gym? Come down at any time and request a tour!
