The Community Center’s Island Café was the spot to be two Sundays in a row!
Everyone sends a special thank you to Gail Cypherd for the delicious take-out Pizza Dinner showcasing her home-made dough and made to order pies which she and husband Greg made for our community members on Sunday, March 4.
Sunday evening, March 11 the Island Café hosted a Community Family Style Dinner with Chef Jon Haight, Chef Sue Lusker, and Chef Robin Toldo, and the menu featured Roasted Chicken, Pasta, Mashed Potatoes, Caesar Salad, Roasted Veggies, and Assorted Desserts.
With reservations requested the team was ready for the 80+ guests who attended and more who came by for take-out. Everyone had fun and we look forward to planning the next Community Dinner.
Of course, none of this would have happened without the group of volunteers ready to lend a hand to the chefs! They cleaned, set up, chopped, diced, stirred, served, cleared, shlepped, swept, and carried. We all thank Jon for opening his kitchen and all his help with the meal and table set up. He was joined by Sue and her family members Shelby, Aaron, and Maddie; and Robin with her extended Toldo family. Thank yous are also extended to Stacey McCarthy and Jasmin McCarthy, John Klimczak, Tommy Doroshevich, Johnny Bergquist, and FICC’s Sarah Porter and Jeanie Cook.
