An Art Project: Jeff Carpenter & Shelly Lamborn

Longtime Fishers Islanders Jeff Carpenter and Shelly Lamborn return this summer with a unique art project. They are setting up in the Old Gas Station across from the Fishers Island Community Center and welcome visitors on Friday and Saturday mornings in July and August from 9:00-1:00.

Many are familiar with accomplished artist Jeff Carpenter’s work, previously shown at P.S.1, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, the Centre Pompidou, and galleries including Pandion here on Island. One can see this in his work as he explains, “If you daydream a memory of a wonderful day it’s rarely just one “snapshot” that you summon, it’s many images – the full panorama, the light in her eyes, the wind in the leaves – all layered one on top of each other.”

Shelly Lamborn is originally from the New York area but has called Boston her home since attending college there. Most of her career has been spent in business development for innovative brands as such as Zipcar and Sports Club/LA. She launched Creative Consignor in the fall of 2014 as a way of combining her passion for fashion and skill as an uber consignment shopper with her extensive sales and marketing experience.
