IN MEMORIAM: Richard Wayne Goss II

Born on November 3, 1933, in Waterbury, CT, to Richard Wayne Goss and Virginia Johnston Goss, he graduated from The Fessenden School, The Hotchkiss School, and Yale University. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Artillery at Fort Sill, OK; as a member of the All-Army track team he set numerous athletic records.

He fell in love with Fishers while sailing Long Island Sound in the late 1960’s. In 1968, he and his wife Elsa bought a home on West Harbor and earned his reputation as a “crazy artist” and island “character” over the 40 years that followed.
